Marlene
Dickinson
is a dancer and choreographer who has worked for the past 25
years at the intersection of Christianity and the arts. She
is passionate about honoring the Lord through artistic excellence
and encouraging others to this end. For ten years, she served
as Director of Theater Arts at The Church at the Crossing in
Indianapolis where she directed dramas and productions and choreographed
new works, most often using dance as another form of story telling
for teaching, outreach and worship. As an independent choreographer,
Marlene has developed several original pieces to precede and
support the talks of nationally known Christian author and speaker
Dr. Lori Salierno, Founder of Celebrate Life International (www.celebratelife.org).
Marlene has choreographed or performed in more than 25 musicals
and revues for theaters, colleges, schools and churches. Favorite
shows include Hello, Dolly! The Music Man
and Joseph
As a musical theater actress, she
worked on numerous cruise ships throughout the Caribbean, and
at Indianapolis Indiana Repertory Theater and Beef and
Boards Dinner Theater, among others. Marlene has been on several
extensive tours of the far East, Germany, and Hawaii with Operation
Appreciation, a Christian U.S.O. type ministry, sharing music,
dance and drama to reach out to soldiers all over the world.
She was a full scholarship recipient and summa cum laude graduate
of the Northern Kentucky University Theater performance program.
She has served on the Board of Directors of Christians in Theater
Arts, an international network of Christian artists (www.cita.org).
Marlene lives in the Atlanta area with her husband of 22 years,
Curtis, and their children, Lily and Tommy. They are active
members of First Baptist Church Woodstock under the exemplary
leadership of Dr. Johnny Hunt.
