Production Choreography

"Characters speak until they must sing and sing until they must dance." Marlene believes that this profound theater adage must be the driving principle of production choreography. Allow her to infuse your show with dance that is passionate and purposeful. Whether it be to highlight plot points, allude to subtext, or foreshadow upcoming action, her thoughtful choreography is designed to engage your audience on a level beyond that of music and dialogue. Typically, Marlene teaches three or four primary production numbers of your choosing over a two or three day weekend cast dance retreat. With a careful eye toward the vision of the Director, the strengths of the cast, and the ambience of the performance space, Marlene desires to develop strategic dance and/or staging that serves your play and moves your audience.
