Christmas Memory

In Key's words, "As a southerner, A Christmas Memory is for me what, I suppose, A Christmas Carol is for a British person. They are both universal stories, but the details of Capote's childhood Alabama holiday, evoke my deepest and most cherished feelings about the season. For me, the hilarity, the wonder and the joy of the story make me feel as though I'm three years old, in my pajamas, smelling the evergreen at 7AM on December 25, experiencing the miracle of Christmas for the first time."

It is a poignant and hilarious remembrance of how a lonely seven year-old boy and his beloved 70 year-old aunt celebrate Depression era holidays in rural Alabama.

Length: Each reading is approximately 40 minutes and with a ten minute intermission make for an hour and a half.
